WFS Master PhD Scholarships

Scholarships 2011-2012 in Malaysia for Malaysian students The World Federation of Scientists (WFS), based in Geneva, Switzerland, promotes international collaboration in science and technology between scientists and researchers from all parts of the world and has more than 10,000 members from all parts of the world.

The scholarship is awarded to Malaysian nationals to support scientific research activities in Malaysian universities, under the supervision of a local scientist. Each scholarship has a duration of maximum one year and is valued at about 2400 swiss franc (about RM 6,600).

Applications are invited from post graduate students at all Malaysian universities (both at Master’s and PhD level). The research activities must be linked to one of the Planetary Emergencies as set out by the World Federation of Scientists (seewww.federationofscientists.org In Malaysia, priority will be given to research in the fields of :

* environmental pollution
* water resources
* soil
* energy
* food
* climate change
* medicine
* biotechnology
* sustainable development

Up to 10 scholarships (per country) can be awarded in any one year. The scholarship brochure and application form are attached.

This scholarship is open to students who have no other scholarship or have only partial support from elsewhere. It is also only open to postgraduate students who are doing research. Those doing their postgraduate degree by coursework are not eligible. The scholarship is open only to Malaysians doing research in Malaysian universities.

You will have research and teaching interests in Organisational Behaviour, specifically in organisational analysis, diversity and/or leadership, and will be expected to engage in business and management research, publications, gain postdoctoral funding for research and consultancy, develop and deliver excellent learning and teaching, build meaningful links between practitioner and academic communities and contribute to the vibrant academic life of the Newcastle Business School.

You should hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant Business and Management subject area, make a contribution, through personal publications, to the future Research Excellence Framework and a strong commitment to students and the learning experience.

“La Caixa” Foundation – Barcelona GSE Scholarships for students from emerging and developing countries
The “la Caixa” savings bank Foundation and the Barcelona GSE (Graduate School of Economics) offer 14 fully-funded scholarships to students from emerging and developing countries (*) with excellent academic backgrounds who will return to their home countries at the end of their professional training process to implement their knowledge.

This award covers:
master program tuition
medical insurance
round-trip airfare from the student’s country of residence
monthly stipend for expenses during the student’s stay in Barcelona
